You obviously can’t work without a menu so i started googling the issue. The first page i looked into gave some indications but nothing clear, and those guys we’re having the problem on ver 1.0 of Magento which is really old.

After trying and testing various methods i finally got it to work, and here is how i did it:

• step1: replace app/code/core/Mage/Page/Block/Html/Head.php with this head.php
• step2: chmod 755 the js/ folder, and folders within.
• step3: chmod 644 the javascript files inside js/lib/
• step4: chmod 644 js/index.php
• step5: there is no step 5 your menu is now working

After i read what some bloggers who updated their wordpress to the beta version, have said about it, im not thinking of upgrading, not a chance. They said that the new interface its not like it should be with warm colors, actually the combination of colors is not so good. And after you’ve upgraded you cant downgrade with a simple rewrite. Another issue is that xmlrpc.php is not compatible with windows live writer, the post is published on the blog, but in windows live writer it generates errors. And it seems that the admin interface for comments is missing the AJAX interface.

What i mean is that bellow the subscribe2 widget in sidebar i get Related post. Maybe its the Simple Tags plugin that has problems, i dont care as long as they dont work together, Simple tags is more important so i discarded the subscribe2 plugin. Then i tried the email notification plugin, and it was ok until i started posting items. Every time i Published a new post, i got this page full of errors, and the emails were not sent to all of my subscribers, very messy.

So i discarded this one to. And finally i found this plugin name Wp Ajax Newsletter, its fairly new as a project, and doesent have too many features, in fact the email are send in plain text, but what i love about it its the Ajax front-end which is very stylish and easy to configure and style by your needs. It doesent conflict with any other plugin so there is no worry on this. And if you care too much about HTML emails, the author is saying that the feature will be added to the next version.
